Overview
Langtang is the high valley closest to Kathmandu. Walkers take about four days to reach its top village, Kyanjin Gompa; by helicopter it takes about 35 minutes.
You fly north over the hills and up the Langtang valley, then land beside Kyanjin Gompa at 3,870 m, a small Tamang and Tibetan Buddhist village with a monastery and a yak-cheese factory. Breakfast is at a lodge in the village, with Langtang Lirung (7,234 m) rising above you and Naya Kanga and Tserko Ri around the valley.
After about an hour on the ground, you fly back to Kathmandu, usually by late morning.

Questions, answered
Is the altitude a concern?
You spend about an hour at 3,870 m. Move slowly when you step out and drink water; most people feel fine. Tell us about any heart or breathing condition before you book.
How long are we on the ground?
About an hour, enough for breakfast and a short walk. The pilot may shorten it if cloud is coming in.
Do we need a permit?
Yes. Kyanjin Gompa is inside Langtang National Park. The park entry permit is included and we arrange it with your passport details.
How many people can come?
The helicopter carries a small group; how many depends on weight and altitude. The price shown is per person for two guests — ask us for other group sizes.
What if the weather is bad?
Helicopters only fly in good visibility. If your morning is cloudy, we wait for a window or move the flight to the next suitable day.
