Good to know
When is the best time to trek in the Everest region?
October to November and March to May offer the clearest skies and the most reliable mountain views. Winter treks are possible at lower altitudes for those who prefer quiet trails.
How luxurious are the lodges, really?
On the Luxury level you stay in the best rooms the Khumbu offers — Yeti Mountain Home lodges, and Hotel Everest View on the Everest View trek — with en-suite bathrooms, heated bedding and private dining where available. Higher up on the way to Base Camp only simpler teahouses exist.
Do I need previous trekking experience?
No. A reasonable level of fitness and a spirit of adventure are enough. Our itineraries build in generous acclimatisation, and your private guide sets a pace that suits you alone.
The complete Everest guide
The Everest region — the Khumbu — is the most storied mountain landscape on earth, a high valley of Sherpa villages, ancient monasteries and glacial rivers beneath an amphitheatre of 8,000-metre peaks.
A luxury trek here does not mean shortcuts. It means flying by private helicopter where it counts, sleeping in the most comfortable lodges on the trail, and travelling with a senior guide whose only clients are you.
Most journeys begin with the celebrated mountain flight to Lukla, climbing through Namche Bazaar to viewpoints such as the Everest View Hotel terrace — coffee at 3,880 metres, Everest filling the window.
Whether you walk to Base Camp itself or trace a gentler line through Khumjung and Thame, the Khumbu rewards slow, well-supported travel like nowhere else.
